SONISPHERE FESTIVAL – THURSDAY 24 JUNE- TERRAVIBE PARK - ATHENS - GREECE
It was spectacular, it was eruptive, it was boisterous, it was the concert event of the summer!

The first Greek Sonisphere Festival was premiered on Thursday 24 of June and haw begun writing its own history.
The rendezvous of the BIG FOUR with the Greek audience was given months earlier. The Greek metal community awaited with agony for the gathering of the BIG FOUR and their aides Bullet For My Valentine and Stone Sour upon Greek land.
A historical moment, which will remain indelibly written in the minds of thousand spectators that attended.
The people started to come massively from the morning and waited patiently for the doors of TerraVibe Park to open, so they could take their place in front of the two stages, Saturn and Apollo Stage, that where placed across one another in the area of TerraVibe Park in order to host the seven bands of the first Greek Sonisphere Festival.

The Greeks Suicidal Angels, took the opportunity that was given to them by being the opening act and they where very stimulated up to the hilt and confirmed that they where the best choice for opening the eruptive first Sonisphere Festival!!! Then came Bullet for My Valentine, for the first time on Greek land and everybody who had the chance to attend the show of the racing Welshman, where left rapturous with the great voice of the front man Matt Tuck and the brutal riffs of Jason James.
The stage of  Apollo Stage opened by Stone Sour!!! The eruptive voice of Corey Taylor and the nailing sound of the guitar of  our “patriot” Shawn Economaki, sealed an excellent show which belongs at the highlights of the festival.

The hum becomes louder!!
The charge of the big four begins!!!
With an innovative appearance Anthrax mark the beginning of the BIG FOUR. The one and only Joey Belladonna in great shape, excited the audience spreading waves of metal madness! Also Anthrax proved in fact why they belong at the quadruplet of  the big of Thrash!
Shortly after 18:30 the yell "Slayeeeeeeer!!!" vibrated the TerraVibe Park. The war machine of Slayer, the most authentic thrashers of the world, from the very first riff of "World Painted Blood" they created delirium of joy to the audience of Apollo Stage.

And then it was time for Megadeth! Mustaine and his company proved to be the "headcrashers" of Saturn Stage and worked up the audience which surrendered to their "holy war".
The hearts of the thousand spectators which had gathered at the TerraVibe Park begun to beat faster with the hearing of "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". Metallica where on stage and the first tunes of "Creeping Death" take your breath away. For the next two hours TerraVibe Park turns into a temple of authentic metal. In spite the rain which started to grow up the audience did not move a muscle.
A rapturous crowd vibrates with the rhythm of the ultimate masters of Sonisphere Festival,   Metallica. The best moments of the show: the uproar of the fans at "Broken Beat and Scarred" where in the gigantic screens we see the crowd bow to the greatness of Metallica, the performance of Hetfield at the old-time classic "Nothing Else Matters", the fires at "One", the soloriffs  of KirkHammett at "HarvesterofSorrow", the continuous outbreaks of Lars at the drums and the damned show “spider” of Robert Τrujillo. James Hetfield and his company in wild moods, gave it all with an epic show which overcome their previous appearances in Greece and proved indisputable why they remain leaders these many years!

On Thursday 24 of June,  the TerraVibe Park was shaken repeatedly from the riffs of the guitar masters and from the bombastic voices from the front mans, creating repeated metal storms that were once in a lifetime!! TerraVibe Park proved that it is the perfect setting, where the passion of the Greek crowd matches ideally with the dynamics of the bands, just as it suited for the leading rock festival of the world, the Sonisphere Festival. The ministration of Apollo and Saturn Stage was functioned sufficiently with the dynamics of the bands, leaving to the crowd the best impressions and the image that the TerraVibe Park, is the the most ideal place in Greece, with European specifications!

Finally  "Nothing else matters"!!! The first Greek Sonsiphere Festival is now history. The BIG FOUR were at TerraVibe Park and they offered us an unbelievable experience that will make it hard for our minds to return in their place!!!
